Celebrating 20 years of providing economic development services to the region!

The Wentworth Economic Development Corporation, Inc. (WEDCO) is a non-profit 501(c) (3) founded in 1993.  Our mission is to promote and support businesses and the creation of employment opportunities by providing development assistance and financing.  Our service area includes northern Strafford and southern Carroll County which encompasses the Towns of Brookfield, Effingham, Farmington, Middleton, Milton, Moultonborough, New Durham, Sandwich, Tuftonboro, Wakefield and Wolfeboro. 

Unlike most non-profit organizations we do not engage in ongoing fundraising activities, collect membership dues, etc., nor do we depend on financial support from Towns or County Governments.  Our revenue comes from fees for service, interest income, grants, contributions and tax credit awards. 

Please consider making a tax deductible donation to support our organization’s activities, including but not limited to, business counseling services, educational workshops, and lending activities to business start-ups, expansions, relocations with priority given to job creation and retention.

• Permanently Restricted Contribution to capitalize WEDCO’s Revolving Loan Fund.  This Fund was established in 1999 and is dedicated to the retention and/or creation of employment opportunities in our service area which encompasses New Hampshire’s southern Carroll County and northern Strafford County.  This permanently restricted fund is managed by WEDCO and used to lend to businesses.   As loans are repaid the principal portion of each loan payment is returned to the Revolving Loan Fund and continues to revolve for lending purposes.
